The Protest 04:18
I control your breathing And I control your feelings And I am your voice now And I am your voice now Use me to tell all your friends THIS IS NOT THE WAY THIS SHOULD END Can't we just turn this thing around? Use me as your voice to call out now. HOORRAH HOORAH! This war's gone on too long. HOORAH HOORAH! This nation's gone all wrong. HOORAH HOORAH! I can't just sing this song We can't just sit here, waiting! We can't just sit here so long. I can't see you doing anything. (Don't worry it's under control.) Well, I don't really believe anything. (Don't worry it's under control.) Do you realize we see everything? (Don't worry it's under control.) The idea of a citizen is everything! I know it's not under control!! (Don't worry it's under control!) HOORAH HOORAH! All I heard was clicks and static HOORAH HOORAH! And I was trying so hard not to panic HOORAH HOORAH! I cannot control this feeling anymore HOORAH HOORAH! Could you just tell me who you are fighting for? HOORAH HOORAH! And can I ask you just once more? HOORAH HOORAH! Just who you think you're fighting for?
2.
It only feels empty At the end of the light Where the darkness takes your sight You can try to run from it all night But in the end All that avails is flight.
3.
Can't you tell me from everyone else? I've always been so secure in tracing thoughts back to our heads. When they're gone it's like a freedom ends. Tell me, why can't we bring ourselves to be a perfect world? The information that's been taken away we cannot free ourselves. Oh, we can never let this go. We can never let this... Would you care if I held my voice back and dared to acquiesce? I'll share this misery for eternity If you need company. Oh, we can never let this go. We can never let this...
4.
And why would we let this? This tired little nation pulling itself along the rails at breakneck speeds Waiting for the turn that knocks it off the line into the destructive state of mind to which we've been confined The least we could do is try and get in front of that train and slow it down with as many tiny hands as we can Before it's too late! But it sounds to me like you don't even have a plan, so maybe it's already too late...

Lotus Eaters (free) 04:20
Taking up all of our time It's kinda like we only See them when there isn't any light We know that so now we're afraid of the night 'Cause the emptiness just seems to leave you so dry. We left our coats in the closet With a sense of our worth in the pockets We'd forget our heads if they weren't plugged in To the sockets Taking up all of our time It's kinda like we only See them when there isn't any light We know that so now we're afraid of the night 'Cause the emptiness just seems to leave you so dry. But our pockets had holes in the stitching And ambitions got lost in the pitching As the emptiness cried And it just seemed to leave you so dry. Taking up all of our time It's kinda like we only See them when there isn't any light We know that so now we're afraid of the night 'Cause the emptiness just seems to leave you so dry.

Today will be the day Today I will pull these curtains aside And nullify these lines we tell ourselves That no person can derive the emotions in their minds When they say there's something wrong inside But insist that they were lying. Today will be different. I will make a difference And if nobody hears me, good riddance. They can remain locked inside their minds Empty as an egg which cracked and split the insides For ignored ambitions are like a baby bird Which falls and never flies.

Scylla 03:25
Calm waters lead me farther Towards decisions I'll make If I sail too close to the edge Then I might not prevail On port side Scylla lies watching and waiting To bring my ship to shore And starboard the sea spins round, awaiting a chance to swallow us whole. And we thought we might make it But...we didn't. Six men lost in Scylla's jaws! Was this so smart? I'm falling apart... All because of you... Scylla!

Charybdis 03:00
It's drawing us near 'Cause the consequences just weren't so clear. And with all these unexplainable things we fear It's like Charybdis wants to make us disappear. Spinning round in circles Ocean currents pull me in The preparations that we've made Have only led to our descent. It's the calm before the storm and we're a pile of cement ready to harden in the waves so to the bottom we can sink. It's drawing us near 'Cause the consequences just weren't so clear. And with all these unexplainable things we fear It's like Charybdis wants to make us disappear. It's taken a piece of your heart And sucked it away to oblivion Won't you please tell me Another tale of when the emptiness failed? 'Cause it wants to prevail… We go round and round and around and down. We go round and round and around and round and down. I'm stuck in the sea treading in water that's far too deep and it's getting so hard not to fall asleep when I I could just fall...

Hypnopædia 01:02
And a speaker In the mirror On the dresser By the bed Was pumping tiny little voices To the place they rest their heads It was saying "Go and live a lie, And pretend you're not upset Because the last thing this world needs from you Is blood when you've been bled" But they slept quietly all night And in the morning woke to find That all the while They'd been the soldiers In a desperate little fight To take the thoughts from all our minds And store them in little bins To later take them out And remove Every little thing.
10.
Fall prey to the otherwise large source of entertainment That we can place idle minds inside And we built a tomb for shade Where we emptied our pockets into our graves And waved goodbye to every cent we saved We sold our swords and traded all the parts, Later felt the blades go through our hearts.

Lost Souls 01:26
And you feel eternal, Moving into others Do you believe the feeling Hopelessness brings you? Erase the feeling, I've completed you. We can tell the emptiness is through Pull away the covers...

The Dictator 04:42
(Spoken by Charlie Chaplin in "The Great Dictator" - 1940, Copyright United Artists) "I'm sorry but I don't want to be an Emperor, that's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible, Jew, gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful. But we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate; has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood, for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people. To those who can hear me I say "Do not despair". The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress: the hate of men will pass and dictators die and the power they took from the people, will return to the people and so long as men die liberty will never perish. Soldiers: don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts. You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts. You don't hate, only the unloved hate. The unloved and the unnatural. Soldiers: don't fight for slavery, fight for liberty! In the seventeenth chapter of Saint Luke it is written: "The kingdom of God is within man" Not one man, nor a group of men, but in all men; in you, you the people have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness. You the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy let us use that power, let us all unite! Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future, and old aged security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power, but they lie. They do not fulfill that promise, they never will. Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people! Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness. Soldiers! In the name of democracy, let us all unite!"

Forgotten Citizen Florida

Forgotten Citizen is a one-man musical project which has evolved through and between multiple genres throughout the years. The ultimate goal is musical expression without trying to fit into a certain sound. Forgotten Citizen wears the mask and suit in an attempt to connect people to the music rather than the musician, and hear the message rather than watching the messenger. ... more
